Another sweet day..

Again.. Beautiful sitting on the porch weather...dog walks.. meals with family...getting to know my awesome great nieces and nephew......seeing more sites  around Athens... magic card trick entertainment....really love it here. Thank you Bernie, Jan, Emily and Bradley.  Love y'all!  (That's how they say it in Georgia)

Botanical Gardens of Athens

Started the day out with one awesome breakfast.  Thanks Jan! You always did know how to make the best meals...Yummmm....Got to see my niece Emily and her beautiful little ones!  All very adorable.  Day trip to the Botanical Gardens... Very cool....And weather was perfect.  Later.. Jan and I headed to Olive Garden.. Oh so good! I'm tuckered... Pups doing good too.. We're all snuggled in for the night in the buggy.. I hear crickets.. Will sleep good tonight.

Beautiful Athens Georgia

Got up this morning.. 35 degrees!!! Burrrr.  After 4+ hours of driving... We arrived at bro-in-law Bernie and sis-in-law Jan's.  My gps ( gypsy rosalee) took me places I just wasn't sure about. Ended up going thru North Carolina.. a bit nervous.. But she avoided Atlanta...yay!  And the big trucks were fewer in number...yay!!  But there where mountains...boooo...but it was beautiful! So all is good.  Didn't have time to take pix...too busy griping the steering wheel .. Really love these folks.  I had a great dinner.. 2 beers!! And a grand tour of Athens.  A beautiful place !  Sunny and warmer...Then home for dessert.... Yummmm. Just an awesome day!

Getting Close October 4

What a day!  Checked out of yesterday's campground about 9am.. When a nice older gentleman tapped on my window to let me know one of my tires was going flat... Auuugggg! Brand new tires!!  Then the camp lady just happened to be driving in.  She told me to go to the maintenance building.. They refilled the tire.. But suggested I swing by the LOVES truck stop.. Glad I did.. Biggo screw sticking out of my tire!!  Boooo!  Another nice fella fixed it.. All he wanted was whatever I thought was fair.. $15 or $20... Gave him more.. What a relief!  I was on the verge ... But no tears.. I know things happen... Thank goodness that old fella saw it... No want a blow out!  Finally got tired of driving.. Found a little poedunky campground off the beaten path.. Kinda neat.. A good day.  My angels worked overtime..thank you angels......

Rain Rain... Go away October 3

So far.. No severe weather.. Yay!  But tomorrow promises sun.. So I will stay.. Lots of chores done.. Walked the dogs.. Walked myself..Laundry.. A bit of shopping..needed a poncho.. Tried to clean in this little space...a good day to relax.. And gear up for the next 2 hit the road days...really like this state park.. They seemed to love Halloween!

Kentucky. Unbridled spirit

Left the winery at 6:30 this morning... Hoping to beat some heavy traffic...not! Does anyone sleep in??  And they wanted to get there right NOW!  Crazy people!  Lots of hills around Cinci.. Glad it was dark!  That way i didn't have to shut my eyes....😳

Finally found 75 South.  More crazy fast drivers.. But just made some rest area pit stops..doing good.. Even the pups are behaving. Camping tonight at Fort Boonesborough State Park.. Really nice! Electricity!!!! Yay!  Last night I felt like a mountain woman!!..we sure are spoiled these days!

Learning a few things along the way...

Manicures and camping don't mix.  Stay in the slow lane..  There's gonna be some tight places. But I can handle them.. So can the buggy.  Carry headache meds.. Had to buy! Bring more plastic bags.. LOTS more.. And some twisty ties...AND... Like Phil says...enjoy the journey along with the destination! Yep. Supposed to rain like crazy tomorrow here.. Think I stay an extra night. Still ahead of schedule.

So.... Drive all day...took a wrong turn before I even left the New Haven area.. DOH! But... Though highway 27 is mostly 2 lanes.. And Smartypants GPS girl took me where I've never been.. And probably won't ever find that route EVER again... Not even for $$.... It was nice.  I got to pull over often for the pups... And practice downshifting thru the hills... Not much traffic either.. Except for the few miles I ventured on.. Too many trucks. Too fast... Yuk.. Me no like that part. Somehow... I finally crossed into Ohio... Have no clue where...snorting...I saw a winery sign... Awesome! Just a ways off the beaten path...  Its gorgeous here...I politely asked if i could spent the night.. They said not usually.. But they are so nice. No charge...   So guess what I bought!  Yumm. The chef even looked at my map and

gave me some good directions for morning.  Would like to avoid Cincinnati.  Avoided Dayton cuz I was LOST... Yay!!
